San Diego Teen Faces Two Felony Charges Stemming from DUI Crash

  A   DUI arrest  in San Diego has been made for eighteen year old Joseph Edward Walsh who has been charged with two DUI felonies resulting from a drunken crash that occurred a few months ago. Walsh who is listed to appear in court on Thursday for his arraignment is facing charges from causing injury and another felony count of driving with a considerable amount of alcohol in his system which also caused injury according to San Diego Police. On May 18, 2011, the crash occurred on Rueda Road where Walsh was driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent when he smashed into an SUV carrying a couple and their four year old. After the collision, the vehicle Walsh was driving rolled four times ultimately injuring two passengers. San Diego Man Arrested For Fatal DUI Hit and Run Crash

  In Escondido last Saturday morning, a male driver in a Hyundai Sonata was arrested for driving under the influence as well as other charges for escaping a   fatal hit and run crash . According to Jim Bettencourt, a CHP officer, the collision took place at San Pasqual Road and Bear Valley Parkway intersection when the 27 year old drunken driver in the Hyundai Sonata crashed into the passenger side of a Ford Aerostar Van ultimately killing the young female passenger in the van. The driver of the van suffered minor injuries and was taken to the nearest hospital. Bettencourt also said that after the drunken driver hit the van, he fled the scene. The 21 year old female passenger’s identity has not been released. The second passenger in the van who is 24 years of age suffered minor injuries where he was then taken to a hospital to get treatment. San Diego DUI Crash Leaves Man Seriously Injured

  A   San Diego DUI accident   that occurred in El Cajon leaves 2 men seriously injured according to the California Highway Patrol. The suspected San Diego DUI driver, Dustin Beyer, 21, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after he allegedly ran a red light his 2007 Ford Econoline 350 van. The suspected DUI crash happened around 4:35 p.m. in the vicinity of Jamacha Road and Chase Avenue. The alleged DUI driver crashed into the left side of a 2000 Honda Accord as the 35 year old driver of the Honda was in the intersection making a left turn. Both the driver of the Honda and his male passenger were taken to the hospital where they are said to be in serious condition. The suspected DUI driver was arrested on a felony count of driving under the influence and is being held in San Diego’s central jail on 100,000 bail. San Diego Resident Gets Four Years for DUI Vehicular Manslaughter

  San Diego resident Long Xu was sentenced to four years and four months in prison for killing fellow car passenger and victim Jiani Cheng while he was   driving under the influence of alcohol . Twenty-one year old Xu pleaded guilty in court for driving while intoxicated and for causing great bodily harm to Cheng. Xu’s defense attorney, Victor Orsatti, asked the court that his client receive probation. Orsatti argued that his client was “not a drinker and had five or six small glasses of beer at a karaoke bar before the crash. "This is a tragic situation," Orsatti said. "He (Xu) has led a tremendous life." It was stated in court that Xu had a blood alcohol content of .10% after the tragedy however it turned out to be .08 when he was retested.   DUI arrest in Phoenix Arizona for Nikolai Khabibulin for driving under the influence of alcohol is being ordered to serve a fifteen day jail sentence at the Maricopa County Jail. In August of last year, the hockey player was found guilty for his DUI back in February 2010 and the charges that stemmed from it. The Edmonton Oilers goaltender was pulled over by police for speeding in his black Ferrari. When police offered him a field sobriety test and a blood test, Khabibulin agreed to participate. His results showed that his blood-alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit. Due to Khabibulin’s extreme speeding and high blood alcohol content, it is a minimum that the hockey player will have to serve a 30 day jail sentence.   Del Mar DUI arrest for a well known Jockey on suspicion of  driving under the influence of alcohol   just hours after his big win on the opening day at the races. According to the San Diego Police Department Lt. Andra Brown, the Jockey, Mike Smith, who is a Pasadena resident, was pulled over on Wednesday night near Carmel Valley Road around 11:30 p.m. in his 2011 Land Rover. Brown said that Smith was weaving and driving under the speed limit. This prompted a local officer to pull the Hall of Famer over and give him the option in completing a chemical breath test. Due to his blood alcohol level, which has not been released to the public, the officer took the Jockey to county jail where he was released several hours later on bail.   A San Diego Woman accused for hitting bicyclist while driving under the influence of alcohol was ruled that she will have to stand trial on charges of hit and run, DUI charges and last but not least, gross vehicular manslaughter. On Wednesday, K. Michael Kirkman, a Vista Judge, found that there was sufficient evidence against the twenty-three year old drunken driver, Julianne Elyse Thomson to carry on to trial on January 23 after their long preliminary hearing that day. On July 27 of this year, Thomson’s Ford F-150 truck collided with Jacob’s bicycle close to the intersection of El Camino Real and Cassia Street.
